James Minnick
Co-Founder
Jim co-founded Lovell Minnick in 1999. Through 2023, he co-chaired the Firm’s Board of Managers and served on its Investment Committee. Under Jim’s leadership, Lovell Minnick grew from its initial $105 million fund to a Fund V of $1.28 billion in 2019, and Jim helped to create impressive value for our investors and management teams.
Prior to co-founding Lovell Minnick, he was the President and CEO of Morgan Grenfell Capital Management Inc., an asset management firm. Under Jim’s leadership, Morgan Grenfell grew its AUM from under $3 billion in 1987 to over $30 billion in 1999. This growth in assets was the result of expanding its international investment products into U.S. domestic products and leveraging the firm’s strong institutional presence to establish new distribution channels through the mutual fund marketplace and broker-sponsored programs. Before joining Morgan Grenfell, he was Executive Vice President at SEI Investments Company (NASDAQ: SEIC) responsible for consulting, marketing, and product development. While at SEI, Jim’s positions included national and regional marketing roles and head of the asset allocation and investment manager search practices. Prior to his employment at SEI, Jim was employed by an economic consulting firm and resided in Luxembourg.
Jim earned a Congressional appointment to the United States Air Force Academy and a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Denver.
